UFC 94 Results

Last Saturday night, January 31, 2009 held UFC 94 “Epic Battle of Champions” at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It was the most awaited rematch fight in the history of MMA where it resulted to the victory of Georges St. Pierre against BJ Penn making the former retained his UFC Welterweight title while the latter remained to his weight class empty handed.

St. Pierre battered and bruised Penn throughout the fight and after the fourth round of complete domination Penn's corner decided to quit. The 27 -year old, 170 lbs fighter Georges St. Pierre is now the Best Welterweight Champion and the Best MMA Fighter in the world carrying with him a record of 18-2.

The UFC 94 also featured the light heavyweight match between two undefeated fighters namely Lyoto Machida and Thiago Silva, which results to a knocked out on the latter at the end of the first round. Other main fight card results showed Clay Guida who earned a split decision after a 3-round battle with Nate Diaz; Karo Parisyan who won a split decision over Korean Dong Hyum Kim and Jon Jones who won a unanimous decision over Stephan Bonnar.

It was a great night for the newly hailed champions and even more so for the MMA fans. However on BJ Penn UFC 94 Post Fight interview he said that GSP was going to be his last fight but he also added that his decision might change from time to time.
