One of the last performers to confirm their booking was the extremely busy Beyonce Knowles. The superstar is no stranger to performing at VMA awards after her duet with hubby Jay-Z in 2005 singing ‘Crazy in love’ and her 2006 performance of ‘Ring the alarm’.Beyonce is up for 9 nominations, the same as Lady Gaga, but will be hoping her fun body shaking video ‘Single ladies (put a ring on it)’, can win either video of the year of female video of the year.

Among the other VMA 2009 performers are American rockers Green Day, Pink, Muse & rapper Wale. Green Day will be performing a song from their 2009 album ‘21st century breakdown’. Over 3 years in the making, Green Day fans have been craving new material from the band and they didn’t disappoint with this album. American singer/songwriter Pink wears her heart on her sleeve with her lyrics, and her last album ‘Funhouse’ was no different. She has been busy the past year circling the globe playing to packed audiences. English alternative rockers Muse are no strangers to awards or awards shows over the years and will be performing a track from their forthcoming album ‘The resistance’ due for release the day after the show on 14 September 2009. Washington Hip-Hop artist wale is hoping to promote his first full length album ‘Attention:Deficit’ due out on 20 October 2009.
