This time around, Frank Mir will be fighting with all his might. He certainly can’t afford to lose focus in this match. Losing to Shane Carwin must certainly be a huge wake-up call to him. Mir had lost to a man he should have defeated. This will look like his last chance to prove that he is truly back. He can say that his body is no longer what it was ever since the motorcycle accident, but that is no excuse. He had joined a sport that requires one hundred percent of his attention and effort. If he can’t do that, then it would be better if he just leave.
As for Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, this match could just be another routine job for him. And he’s a fighter to be taken seriously. He had just beaten Pat Barry in UFC 117. Of course in UFC 119 he definitely would want to bring down Mir. The latter is after all still one of the best in mixed martial arts fighter.
