The 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards Live will be held at O2 World in Berlin, Germany. The nominations were officially announced last September 21st. Voting is officially open in 12 categories. MTV and music fans can cast their votes at http://ema.mtv.co.uk/vote. Here are the nominees:
Best Song: Beyonce — "Halo"; Black Eyed Peas — "I Got A Feeling"; David Guetta feat. Kelly Rowland — "When Love Takes Over"; Kings Of Leon — "Use Somebody"; and Lady GaGa — "Pokerface".
Best Live Act: Beyonce; Green Day; Kings Of Leon; Lady GaGa; and U2.
Best Group: Black Eyed Peas; Green Day; Jonas Brothers; Kings Of Leon; and Tokio Hotel.
Best New Act: Daniel Merriweather; La Roux; Lady GaGa; Pixie Lott; and Taylor Swift.
Best Female: Beyonce; Katy Perry; Lady GaGa; Leona Lewis; and Shakira.
Best Male: Eminem; Jay-Z; Kanye West; Mika; and Robbie Williams.
Best Urban: Ciara; Eminem; Jay-Z; Kanye West; and T.I.
Best Rock: Foo Fighters; Green Day; Kings Of Leon; Linkin Park; and U2.
Best Alternative: Muse; Paramore; Placebo; The Killers; and The Prodigy.
Best Video: Beyonce — "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)"; Britney Spears — "Circus"; Eminem — "We Made You"; Katy Perry — "Waking up in Vegas"; and Shakira — "She Wolf".
Best Push Artist: Daniel Merriweather; Hockey; La Roux; Little Boots; Metro Station; Pixie Lott; The Veronicas; and White Lies.
Best World Stage Performance: Coldplay; Kid Rock; Kings Of Leon; Lady GaGa; and Linkin Park.
The Best Video category is not open to voting because It will be determined by an MTV panel. The presenters for the awards are: Italian actress and director Asia Argento, American boy band Backstreet Boys, Israeli model Bar Refaeli, WWE wrestler Batista, German professional tennis player Boris Becker, American TV personality Brody Jenner, Moroccan actor Jean Reno, teen pop heartthrobs Jonas Brothers, English soul and R & B singer Joss Stone, American actress and musician Juliette Lewis, and American teen actress Miranda Cosgrove.
Watch MTV Europe Music Awards Live Stream because it's considered to be among Europe's anticipated events, ironically, majority of the nominations come from American artists. Few European artists have been nominated mainly from France, Germany, Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom.
