Watch Kid's Choice Awards Live; an annual awards show by Nickelodeon to honor the biggest names in film, television, music, and sports as voted by their viewers, which are primarily children and teens. The KCA's, as it is also commonly known, started back in 1986 as The Big Ballot, named after the huge ballots that kid's used to vote. Since that time it has developed into one of the most entertaining awards show on TV. The Kid's Choice Awards feature amazing musical performances from the hottest musicians and bands. The award, which is called a “Blimp”, is also presented by popular celebrities and personalities.
Why Should You Watch The Kid's Choice Awards? This is not really a question if you are a kid since the KCA's are probably something you look forward to every year. But it is not only for kids as both young and old alike are sure to be entertained by the show. Unlike most awards shows, the Kid's Choice Awards are not that formal. They focus on fun rather than formalities so don't expect a a sea of celebrities in tuxedos and gowns. This is a refreshing change as it results in a more loose and free flowing awards show which is always fun to watch.
Get to see your favorite celebrities onstage or in the audience. One thing that makes the Kid's Choice Awards unique is the involvement of slime in the whole event. Green slime is a trademark of the network and it is one thing that doesn't disappear year after year. The KCA's have incorporated slime stunts into the annual show which would have extreme sports athletes and daredevils do special stunts which involves green slime live during the airing of the event.
Oh, and did I also mention that celebrities also get slimed? Every year, an unsuspecting celebrity would slimed to the delight of everyone. Some of the celebrities which have been slimed during the KCA's are Johnny Depp, Will Ferrell, Jack Black, Nicole Kidman, Katy Perry, and Justin Timberlake among others. Getting slimed is not a punishment or form of ridicule but on the
contrary is an honor which only the most notable celebrities receive.
